BIOSKETCH:
    Terrence J. Bugno, MD, FACR, DABHM is presently Medical Director of Radiation Oncology Services, CENTEGRA SAGE CANCER CENTER in McHenry, IL where he holds staff appointments at both CENTEGRA Northern IL Medical Center in McHenry and Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock, IL. He is on courtesy staff at St. Joseph and Sherman Hospitals in Elgin, IL. Dr. Bugno rejoined Midwest Radiation Oncology Consultants group practice in 2000, having started his career in 1986 with Drs. Smoron & Gagnon, the groups founding members.

    Dr. Terry Bugno ,a product of Chicago’s Southwest side is a graduate of Brother Rice H.S., Illinois Benedictine College (now Benedictine University) in Lisle, IL summa cum laude with a double major in Chemistry & Mathematics. He received both his MD and his specialty training in Radiation Oncology, including Chief Residency, at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago IL. He is board certified in Radiation Oncology and has been in private practice since 1986. Over his career he has had expansive interests and active practice beyond traditional Radiation Oncology including radionuclide therapies, hyperthermia, low and high dose rate brachytherapy, combined modality programs and neutron beam therapies.

    In his own personal integrated view of health, medicine and healing he has been very active in organized and self studies in the area of complementary and alternative medicine. He formalized and demonstrated his professional interests by being in the first group of board certified Holistic Medicine physicians in the USA in December 2000. This philosophy of care encompassing a personalized, body/mind & spiritual paradigm of Integrative Medicine he strives to incorporate in his professional cancer care.

    Over his career he has been active in many public & professional societies, American Cancer Society, completed his tenure as Chair of Public & Professional Communications for ASTRO (national organization of Radiation Oncologists), and has authored the Standard for Communications in Radiation Oncology, Commission on Radiation Oncology, American College of Radiology and the Centennial Expose marking the 100th anniversary of Radiation’s discovery by Roentgen by a slide set commissioned by Radiology Centennial Inc. In 1999, he was elected into Fellowship in the American College of Radiology, and that same year was listed as a 'Top Doc' amongst his Chicagoland professional peers. He is a member of AOA ( Alpha Omega Alpha) the premier medical honor society.

    Dr. Bugno returned to practice in McHenry September, 2000 at the then free standing Northern IL Center for Cancer Care, which has since become the CENTEGRA Sage Cancer Center in 2003, becoming its Medical Director since June. He is active in the Cancer Care, Radiation Safety, CME Oversight Committees and serves as both NIMC and MMC Cancer Liason Physician with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The Center recently began participation in ECOG based protocols in collaboration with local medical oncologists and has the full complement of radiation modalities in use.

    He resides in Crystal Lake, IL with his fiance, Dr. Christine Rogers with whom he maintains a part-time consultative holistic/integrative medicine practice through East-West Integrated Therapies in Barrington, IL. As a semi-retired professional musician (trumpet), his loves include music, studies in all areas of science, metaphysics and holistic healthcare, table tennis, nature and his two lovely daughters, Lindsey & Samantha.
